I’m in the middle of a busy 10 days. After a quiet summer, things have come to life in a hurry. First, on Thursday Sept 13th, an audience listened to my talk at the library in Tweed, Ontario. Then, I had a booth at the Smiths Falls library on Saturday for Doors Open Smiths Falls. Last night I spoke to the Rotary Club of Brockville/ 1000 Islands. That’s only half-way through the week: there are 2 more events on the calendar.
I wonder what people are thinking when they listen to me? In Tweed, I forgot that the audience wasn’t familiar with the sport of three-day eventing. Thankfully, my mother, who had accompanied me, raised her hand to remind me of this, so I described the sport. I’ve since found the website www.discovereventing.com/ which concisely explains three-day eventing. On the whole, I think everything is going well. I just received an email from the Brockville Rotary Club’s president: “I have never seen our Rotarians listened so attentively as they did during your presentation. We all thoroughly enjoyed your message.” May they enjoy reading the book!
